Flying is the fastest option available to normal people. There are lots of options to choose from. Convenience is also a big factor with flying.
Cost. Flights can be expensive and can vary unpredictably based on a variety of factors, many of which ar beyond our control
Travelling across the Atlantic by boat can be a fantastic way to travel in leisurely fashion. And if you rent a cabin on a freighter it can be significantly cheaper.
Time. Travelling by boat can take an entire week. Also, if you are prone to seasickness, a week at sea might not be the best way for you to travel.
